Frank Smik, 99 years, born in Czechoslovakia, migrated to Ohio in 1906. First came to North Miami with his arthritis crippled wife and their two sons Frank Jr. and Alfred (Al). He was a barber for many years in Miami Shores and North Miami. His first shop was destroyed by the 1926 hurricane. Julia, his first wife died in 1958, He married
Mary Cerney of Cleveland, Ohio. She died in 1986. His late son, Al Smik was a civic activist who became a North Miami councilman. He is survived by his son Frank Jr. and two daughters-in-law, Frank's wife Elizabeth Weleby, and Dorothy Smik, who had been Al Smik's wife.
