Lola Nearene "Renee" Pennington, 83, of Tyler, Texas, passed away on November 30, 2010 in Tyler.

She was born on August 5, 1927 in Pikeville, Tennessee to Frank and Lola Belle Turner Campbell and lived in Pikeville throughout her childhood.

Renee attended Pepperdine University and continued her relationship with the university throughout her life by generously contributing to their programs. She married Vanis Pennington in 1949. They lived in Dallas before moving to Tyler, where they have lived for many years. Mrs. Pennington was a homemaker who was faithful to her husband and his endeavors. Higher education was an important part of her life. She loved her family and sought to support their educational needs whenever possible.

Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her parents and 15 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a loving family including her husband of 60 years, Vanis Pennington; five sisters, Alma Greene, Charlotte Acuff, Reba Hoodenpyle, Carolyn Acuff, and Frances Lane; and several nieces and nephews.
