Mrs. Vance Swinburn, wife of the Tulia Mayor and a former county resident, died Monday, January 27. She was 68.
Born at Lone Oak, Mrs. Swinburn was the former Ruth Boarman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Boarman who lived three miles north of town for many years. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1924.
She taught in East Ward School, Wellington, in the late 1920's and later at Dodson, where Mr. Swinburn was Superintendent of Schools. They were married here in 1934.
The family had lived at Tulia since 1947. She was a Methodist.
Survivors are her husband; two sons and a daughter, Dale of Tulia, Max of Kress and Carol of Fort Worth; a sister, Mrs. Lora B. Bowyer of Dallas, and four grandchildren.
