Obituary
Mary Ann Harris went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2014, under the care of Mission Hospice in Burleson.
Mary Ann was born Oct. 8, 1932, in Medicine Mound to the late Benjamin Franklin and Nettie Hightower Maddox. Mary Ann was a graduate of Quanah High School in Quanah. On July 4, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert Neil Harris. They lived for many years in Fort Worth before moving to Tyler where she left many dear friends. She lived a Christian life as a member of Marvin United Methodist Church and was also an active member of the Greater Tyler Association of Realtors for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Harris; sisters, Ruby Goodnight, Cecil Grange; brothers, Ted Maddox, Tom Maddox, Jack Maddox, John Maddox, Frank Maddox, Ken Maddox, Porter Maddox and Linus Maddox.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, Stephen Harris and wife Karen, of Burleson; daughter, Lisa Harris Shaw and her husband Bill, of Cypress; grandchildren, Haley Harris, Hunter Harris and wife Ashley, of Burleson, Hannah Kelley, Holly Kelley and Hayden Shaw, of Cypress; brothers, Bob Maddox and wife Kay, of Carrollton, and Stan Maddox and wife Edna, of Pin Hook. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors at noon, prior to the service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Home, 215 E. Front St., in Tyler. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery immediately following.
The family requests that donations be made in memory of Mary Ann Harris to Mission Hospice, 505 N. Ridgeway Drive, Suite 173, Cleburne, 76003.
