This monument is located at Section C Lot 66. It can be easily located by entering the cemetery through the Cold Springs Road entrance, turning left and driving a couple hundred feet down Chestnut Avenue. The Wood lot is the left. It is a family lot surrounded by a granite curb.
There is a very big tree on the lot (the biggest tree I've ever seen in Lockport).

The Wood monument is a 6' tall white marble obelisk with inscriptions on one side only. The inscriptions are somewhat weathered but I'm fairly certain I have recorded them properly.
The only part I'm unsure of is the "47" in Rebecca's year of death.
The monument is in good condition in 2014 with the exception of leaning a bit to the east.

"SACRED
TO THE MEMORY OF
JOHN WOOD
A NATIVE OF NEWPORT R.I.
WHO DIED JAN. 26
1826:
AE. 56 Y'RS

ALSO
REBECCA WICKHAM
HIS WIFE
A NATIVE OF NEWPORT R.I.
WHO DIED JAN. 16,
1847:
AE. 75 Y'RS."

Also on this lot is a small gravestone for "ELLA, DAUGHTER OF HENRY AND MARY MOORE, DIED FEB. 7, 1863, AE. 6 Y'RS."
Note: Ella's gravestone is lying on it's back, and it's possible it could have been moved from another area.

Also, there is a small headstone for Rebecca. It is inscribed "MRS. R.W. WOOD".

* Note : A story has been told that the giant tree on this lot has grown around an old gravestone for DR. ROBERT CROOKE WOOD, a Brigadier General in the Civil War.
I could find no trace of a gravestone for the General so I can't confirm this story although there was an obituary in the Lockport Daily Union Thursday evening April 1, 1869 stating "The funeral of Dr. Robert Wood, a surgeon in the army of the United States for many years, occurred at Christ's Church, in this city today. The family of Dr. Wood resided in East Lockport, and he was well known to many of our citizens. He was a son-in-law of General Z. Taylor, twelfth President of the United States"

I can't find any indication that the General was buried in any other area cemetery.
