Patrick McKinley was born in Ireland 1835 and set sail aboard at ship for the USA in 1855 after arrival lived in Bloomington, McLean Co., Illinois where he became a US Citizen in 1876, he married 1864 his ship-mate Rosa Trainor who was aboard with her sister Bridget who married James Delaney also a passenger on the same ship. They may have known each other before this but that is unknown at this point.
