"In Turvey Churchyard, Bedfordshire is an epitaph in memory of JAMES SMITH (a gipsy), who died
May the 10th, 1822, aged 105 years, on whom the
Rev. Legh Richmond wrote the following lines:
"'Here lies Jim, the wandering gipsy,
Who was sometimes sober, but oftener tipsy;
But with the world he seemed to thrive,
For he lived to the age of one hundred and five.'"
