LLOYD A. FLEAGLE, 81, of Smitshsburg, R.D. 3, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. He had been critically ill since being admitted to the hospital after suffering a heart attack Monday.

Born May 31, 1905, in Edgemont, he was a son of the late Jacob and Bertha (Deal) Fleagle. He lived all his life in the Edgemont area.

His first wife, Mrs. Pearly (Wilhide) Fleagle, died in February 1935.

He had worked for various local industries and for a number of years was employed at the Fairchild Plant in Hagerstown. Most of his life was spent as a self-employed carpenter and stone mason.

He and his wife, Mrs. Lelia (Sharrah) Fleagle, had lived at their present residence since their marriage in June 1939.

Fleagle was a member of the Blue Mountain Church of God and the National AARP.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by these children: Mrs. Louella Eyler, Hagerstown; Mrs. Mildred Minnick, Cavetown; Roy Fleagle, Crestview, Fla., Orville Fleagle, Waynesboro; Mrs. Linda Hahn, Ringgold; and Terry Fleagle, Smithsburg.

Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Betty J. Carson Punt, Hagerstown, 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and these brothers and sisters: Vernon Fleagle, Rouzerville; Leon Fleagle, Mercersburg; Leroy Fleagle, Donald Fleagle, Theodore Fleage and Mrs. Ruth Reynolds, all of Waynesboro; Mrs. Ada Shatzer, Mrs. Naomi Wilhide and Mrs. Betty Rowe, all of Smithsburg; and Mrs. Violet Schildt, Lake Placid, Fla.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. Sterline Keeney officiating. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Satuday from 7 to 9 p.m.
