MRS. LELIA ALICE (SHARRAH) FLEAGLE, 84, of 14046 Edgemont Road, Smithsburg, died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1995, in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. She had been in failing health for the past couple weeks and became critically ill Monday.
Born August 8, 1910, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Jennie (Bowman) Sharrah. She lived her early life in Waynesboro and moved to her current address in 1939.
Mrs. Fleagle and her husband, Lloyd A. Fleagle, were married in June 1939. He died on Feb. 12, 1987.
She was employed by Waynesboro Knitting Mill for a number of years and then worked at Connie's Sportswear for 10 years prior to retiring in 1972.
Mrs. Fleagle was a member of the Church of Christ in Hagerstown. She also was a member of the national AARP.
She is survived by three daughters, Louella Eyler of Hagerstown, Mildred Rohrer of Smithsburg and Linda Hahn of Ringgold; three sons, Roy Fleagle of Crestview, Fla., Orville Fleagle of Waynesboro and Terry Fleagle of Smithsburg; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Betty Punt; a grandchild, Larry Punt; two sisters, Sadie Toms and Blanche Schildt; and three brothers, Raymond Sharrah, Clarence Sharrah and Merle Sharrah.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Pastor Bryan R. Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Washington Township.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
