Worked as domestic servant in Philadelphia for several prominent families Elkins Park area, including the Schmidt family, a leather merchant. While working for them, they took her to Europe several times from ca. 1905 to 1930. Among the notable people who came to the house on Old York Road were Gen. Sarnoff, Enrico Caruso and Helen Keller. Anna retired to home of her sister Louisa Townsend in EHC following her death in 1955. She was a strong supporter of the Moravian Church in EHC and Bethlehem, PA.
