Ervin Odell Williamson, 92, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, January 4, 2006. He died from complications of a stroke he suffered on November 18, 2005 while on a deer hunting trip. He was the youngest son of Rebecca Ann (Hisaw) and James Monroe Williamson. He was born October 29, 1913 in Terrell, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Tom, John and Everett and his sisters Bertie Mae Williamson, Ruby Abbott, Virginia "Virgie" Lindsey and Bessie Vann Pershall. He was an Army Veteran serving in Company E, 120th Quartermaster Regiment in 1940-1941. He earned his private pilot license in 1947 and served in the Oklahoma Civil Air Patrol in the 1970's. He was a 30-year member of the Operative Plaster's and Cement Masons'. There are many Oklahoma City metro area hospitals, high-rise buildings and huge complexes that reflect his finishing work. He was proud and always pointing out those places he had a part in constructing. He was an avid gardener who took great joy in planting seedlings in the winter and lovingly caring for the tender plants until he could plant them in the huge garden he planted every year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing dominoes. God gave him the talent of whistling, and his beautiful whistling could be heard throughout the neighborhood while he worked outside. He had been a member of Soldier Creek Baptist Church in Midwest City for over 30 years. Previous to that he had been a member of Southwest Friendship Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. There he taught a young men's Sunday School class for many years. Out of that class came young men who became preachers, song leaders and missionaries. His wife, three daughters, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive him. Ada (Smith) Williamson, his wife of 57 years; his daughter Linda and husband David Baker of Oklahoma City, and her son Kenneth Humphrey and wife Julie and their children Emily "Emmie" and Kennedy Humphrey of Choctaw; and her daughter Amy (Humphrey) and husband Tim Duty and her son Avery Stinnett of Del City; his daughter Ada Louise "Lucy" and husband Paul Luker of Lusk, Wyoming and their daughter Mickie and husband Chris Otto and their children Riley and Tyler of Rawlins, Wyoming, and their son William Ervin Luker of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; and his stepdaughter Judy Hummel and her children Kimberly and Thomas Quick of Texas and his daughter Raquel Redy . He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends along with his dog and constant companion Honey and Cal the turtle. His sweet, loving spirit, ready smile and strong handshake will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Soldier Creek Baptist Church in Midwest City with burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.
