Joyce Almond
Joyce Sewell Almond, 57, of Mt. Airy, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at the Habersham County Medical Center.
Born September 21, 1947, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late William Ray and Lillie Belle Curtis Sewell. She was a mother, a homemaker and a member of the Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Mrs. Almond was preceded in death her husband, John Lewis Almond and a brother, Johnny Sewell.
Survivors include five daughters, Angela Duncan, Plant City, Fla., Sharon Flangan and Glenda Chastain, both of Mt. Airy, Tammy Byrd and Johnna Almond, both of Baldwin; a son, John Lewis Almond, Jr., Toccoa; sister, Marjean Manderville, Chattanooga, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 9, at the Glade Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael T. Justus, Austin Ivester and Ronnie Thurmond officiating. Burial was in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, was in charge of arrangements.
