In Memoriam

Miss Anna Belle Phillips, daughter of James and Anna Phillips, died at her home, near Rices Landing, Wednesday morning, January 4, aged 12 years and 9 months. Her death was caused by uremic poisoning, following a light case of diptheria.

She is survived by father and mother, one sister and six brothers, her sister, May having preceded her to her Heavenly home a few years ago. She was a brght and interesting child, loved by all who knew her. Dear parents, we know it is hard to give her up. She was so young, so even tempered, possessing all that we are apt to admire in youth. But God in His infinite wisdom doeth all things for our good, though during our trials and troubles we sometimes cannot understand his mysterious plans. We should remember that the Lord giveth, as well as taketh away. Christ said, "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."

Her feet had never trod the paths of sin and we have every reason to believe that she is better off than those who are left subjects to the allurements and temptations of this world. Her last words were: "I'm helpless and sick and ready to die, and Come to Jesus, Come to Jesus."

He casket was covered with beautiful flowers, a part of them being presented by Strawn's school, of which she was a diligent student until sickness kept her away. She will be greatly missed there as well as at home. Owing to the disease the Dr. requested them to have a private funeral. Interment at Hewitts cemetery, Thursday at 1:30 o'clock.

A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled.
A vacant place is in our home
Which never can be filled.

A Friend.
