Ole and Grace Gifford Oleson lived near Wessington SD for several years. When they lost their farm because they couldn't pay $7.00 in taxes, Ole was put in the Huron Poor Farm Home, and Grace moved to help a family friend to work on their farm near Belle Fourche SD. Ole lived at the Huron Poor Farm until his death in 1924. He was buried without a headstone, until Dennis Oleson (his grandson) had one added in 2005 to his grave.
He states he is born in 1864 age, 38 in the Iowa marriage record. I believe he used several dates for his birth day, depending on the circumstance.

** His name was not Olev, that was an error on the 1920 census, please don't send corrections for his name. (RLF Nov 2020)
