Mark (nickname "Goose") was a wonderful father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He never met a stranger and if you ever met him you would never forget him. He had a big, kind heart and was always there when anyone needed him. He loved to eat, fish, watch football and Nascar, and be around his family and his many friends. For his size he could put away more food than anyone I've ever seen. He was a warm, kind, loving and loyal person. He had a strong positive impact on everyone and will never be forgotten by those that knew and loved him. He will be sadly missed by us all. He put up a valiant fight to beat colon cancer but through it all he was at peace with God. When the time came, he was ready to go. He went surrounded by people that loved him and at a place he always enjoyed being. A better friend could not have existed. I'll miss getting up on a Saturday morning and not seeing him sitting on my back porch with a cup of coffee and the newspaper. I am honored that his time to go came while he was in my home. We used to go fishing together a lot. My husband was the captain, and Mark was the loyal first mate. It will never be the same. He was always there - no matter what we were doing. A truly good man.
