Alexander Fields' grave was one of the graves marked with a wooden marker for which the location and identification were lost.

Obituary of Alexander Fields:
Died, at his residence, in Dale County, Ala., on Friday the 12th ult., Maj. A. Fields, aged about 50 years. He was born in Darlington District, South Carolina. Maj. F. has left a large circle of friends to mourn his loss. (Published January 1, 1852, in the Darlington Flag, Darlington, South Carolina)

Alexander who died in 1851 is often listed by family researchers as a son of Bartholomew, but no proof has been found to support that relationship. If anyone has the needed proof that Alexander is a son of Bartholomew, please let me know. It would be a great help to Fields researchers.
