Susannah Carbaugh was the daughter of Abraham Carbaugh (1790-1847) and Elizabeth Baker (1799-1876.) She was married twice:

1. John Goulding, Feb. 28, 1850, Dearborn Co., Indiana
2. George Howard, Sept. 26, 1860, Dearborn Co., Indiana

Susan Carbaugh Howard, born in Dearborn County, March 13, 1828, died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Maggie) Brown, on Robbins Street. 3 other children survive, Mrs. Della McClintic of Newcastle, George and Ben of Hope. She married John Golding in 1848, he died 4 years later. Eight years later she married George Howard, who had 4 small children.

Her surviving step-children are Mary of Milan, Ella Merryman of Anderson, Sarah Ball and C.H. Howard of Texas. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Charity Walser of St. Louis, Missouri and Mrs. Emeline Clements of Moore's Hill, Indiana, who is 83.

Funeral service was Wednesday at the Hope Methodist Church with burial at the Moravian Cemetery.
