Carolyn Smalley Clark

Died in the early hours of May 6, 2014 at her home in Jamaica Bay, Fort Myers, Florida. It was peaceful and she was with people she loved. With her eighteen years in the Indianapolis public schools, and with her gifts as a natural pianist, an enthusiastic cook, and a loving friend, she was a mainstay to us all. After a full life that began 88 years ago in Straughn, Indiana, Carolyn is survived by son, Rick and wife, Marianne; daughter, Susan and husband, Driscoll; grandchildren, Kathy and Steve and his fiancée, Kaysi; longtime friend, Ed Forster and his family; step-daughter, Maggie and her brothers and their families, and the many she loved as a friend and caregiver. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Olive Willis Smalley, and her husbands, Richard Case Clark and Edward Grindstaff. She will be enterred at Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie. Services will be private, but gifts of remembrance can be extended to Hospice, to the Humane Society, and to Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist.
