Francis Roy Beadle Sr., age 82 years of Caseville, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc of complications from a recent
stroke. Francis was born May 6, 1927 to the late Darling George and Frances (Nicklos) Beadle in Caseville, where he also grew up. After graduating from Pigeon High School, he sailed two seasons as a fireman on the Great Lakes. He married Thelma Rooker on August 15, 1948 at St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. Together they settled in the Detroit area and raised their family while he worked at Detroit Engineering. In 1971 they moved to Hillman where he owned and operated the Avalon Bar. They moved to Caseville in 1979. Francis was an active member of St. Roch Catholic
Church where he was a eucharistic minister. He was the charter grand knight of the Knights of Columbus #8042, a member and marshall of 4th Degree Assembly #2372, navigator of the Alpena 4th Degree Assembly #485, and a former member of the Caseville Eagles FOE #3690. Francis had served on the Caseville Fire Department and Caseville Village Council. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and he loved baseball.

Surviving are his wife Thelma; children Marie (Mark) Derrick of Livonia, Francis Jr. (Joyce) of New Jersey, Thaddeus of Hillman, Gerald (Cindy) of Midland,
Joseph (Julie) of Ohio, Virginia (Greg) Wilk of Onaway, and Margaret Mary (Victor) Chomic of Davison, 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers Harold (Betty) of Georgia, Albertus of Caseville and Herbert (Jean) of Westland and sisters Leona (Fred) Langley of Caseville and Jessie Otto of Pigeon.

He was preceded in death by his brothers William, George and Thomas, and sisters Geraldine Parent, Marion Parent, and Josephine Anderson.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Roch Catholic Church with Rev. Andrew Booms presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and one hour prior to the mass on Saturday at the church. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 PM Friday.
