James Nowlin, father of Anne Nowlin, died in 1809 in Buckingham County, Virginia, but his widow Sarah (Webster) Nowlin removed to Sumner County, Tennessee by 1810 and then to Bond [Fayette] County, Illinois by 1819, with four of their children: Anne (born 1781, the subject of this sketch), John (born 1782, married Prudence Blankenship 1816), James (b. 1785, m. Elizabeth Proctor 1813) and Nathaniel (b. 1792, m. 1st Mahala Anderson 1817, 2nd Rebecca Sidwell 1833).
Anne Nowlin married Edmond Boaz on 28 March 1810 in Sumner County, Tennessee. The couple had eight children. She died in Sharon Township in 1846.
