Thirza Eliza Mason was born 8 August 1881 in Wasioja, MN, the second of three children of Neil Austin Mason (1856-1935) and Mary Lucinda Sammers Mason (1859-1932). She worked as a school teacher for many years. She was married to George Walkley (1884-1955) on 31 July 1923 in Morrison County, MN. They did not have children. She was widowed in 1955, and she died on 27 October 1964 in St. Cloud, MN at the age of 83. She was interred at Maine Prairie Cemetery.
