Velma V. Smith , 88, of 500 Carskadon Lane, Keyser, WV, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born on May 15, 1921 at Parsons, WV, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Eliza (Pitzer) Fike .
Mrs. Smith was formerly employed with the Celanese Amcelle Plant and with Potomac Valley Hospital in the dietary department. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nancy Hanks Post # 3518, VFW, Keyser.
Surviving are one daughter, Bonnie Shook and husband Jerry of Keyser; one son, Robert Smith and wife Ann of Morgantown, WV; three brothers, Herman Fike of Old Fields, WV, William Fike and Ralph Fike , both of Moorefield, WV; two sisters, Thelma Price of Greenville, OH and Mary Ellen Hinckley of Jackson, MI; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one step grandchild and five step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, May 14, 2010 one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
