Allen D "Dale" Blackmer, 61, died Monday (Feb. 20, 1989) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
A native of Hermon, he moved here in 1957. After working in local restaurants, he was an office employee of Coulters Office Supply for six years. He retired in 1970 after working for five years as a press operator for Chisholm-Ryder Co.
Blackmer served in the Army in Europe during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae Bartha Blackmer; two sons, Christopher A. and Kevin D.; a daughter, Donna Fay Blackmer; three sisters, Ada Mary Walker, Ruth Burrnett, and Geneva Harvey; and a granddaughter.
