Florence "Flo" Eames Wallace, 73, of Fair Haven, formerly of Fulton, passed away on Sunday, May 11 after a long illness in Tucson, AZ where she spent her winters. A native of Fulton, she lived in Fair Haven for the past 20 years. Florence retired after 33 years as an elementary teacher in the Fulton School District and was a substitute high school teacher at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton. She was the author of a newspaper column for The Valley News many years ago and had owned a seasonal boutique in Fair Haven selling antiques, crafts and books. Florence had been an avid fan of her daughter Amanda's basketball career and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Florence Eames; her sister, Joyce Salisbury and by her beloved daughter, Trooper Amanda Anna, who died in the line of duty in 2012. Surviving are her devoted husband, Frank Wallace of Fair Haven; a grandson, Ethan Anna of North Syracuse; two stepsons, Vernon and Craig Wallace, both of PA; brother-in-law, Bruce Salisbury; nieces, Tracy Burford and Susan Salisbury; nephew, Daniel Salisbury and grandnieces and grandnephews. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 23 at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street in Fulton with services noon on Saturday, May 24 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Springbrook Cemetery in Fair Haven. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trooper Amanda Anna Fund, P.O. Box 485, Fair Haven, NY 13064.
