Mrs. Alexander (Emily D.) Altergott, 89, a resident of 3523 Orchard Lane, Manitowoc, died Sunday, September 1, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mrs. Altergott was born August 21, 1896, at Rhinewald, Russia, daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy Wiegel Eurich. She grew up in Russia, coming to the United States in 1907, settling with her family in Silverwood, Michigan, and moving to Manitowoc after her marriage in 1916, residing here since. She married Alexander Altergott on October 29, 1916, at Silverwood, Michigan. He preceded her in death August 15, 1962. Mrs. Altergott was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Otto and Joyce Altergott of Two Rivers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Emily and Edgar Schultz of Mishicot and Adelia and Raymond Augustine of Manitowoc; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Otto and Dolores Eurich of Saginaw, Michigan, Beatrice Eurich of Saginaw, Michigan; a sister and brother-in-law, Sophie and Lee Pearsall of Monrovia, Michigan; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Alexander, a sister and three brothers.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold State Street Chapel, Manitowoc, 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock this Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then at the church from noon to the time of services.
