He married Nellie Alice Standley, (daughter of Joseph Standley and Mary Alice "Myers" Standley), on December 26, 1920 in Kinsley, Edward Co., Kansas. They had 2 sons. Lloyd Joseph and Claude Herman.
He was a Veteran of WWI serving in the US Army.
