The son of John Clayton and Elfreda Armour Allen. Rodney grew up in Adamsville where his parents owned and operated the Allendale Inn. He married Alice Conlin in 1918 and had two children: Mary Frances Allen and Roderick David Allen. He was a wonderful grandfather.
