He was the oldest living Charter member and a faithful Deacon who lived a dedicated Christian life, with his desire more than anything to see souls saved and for the church to grow and be a shining light in the community.
Not only did he love his family but he loved his church family and friends. George owned and operated a saw mill for many years and was a carpenter by trade. He was also an avid dog trader and enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagles. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Gertrude Lynn Woody; daughter, Delilah Woody; grandson, Michael Woody; parents, John & Elizabeth Miller Woody; sisters, Robbie Bostic, Frankie Wood and Eva Bagwell.
