James Coleman “J” Woody, of Loudon, TN, born 2/22/22, age 93 passed away Thursday morning after a short illness. J and his brother George worked as Woody Brothers Construction, building and remodeling houses and schools in the area. He later retired as maintenance supervisor at Peach Tree Road Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA. He attended New Macedonia Baptist Church when able. He was also a 32nd degree mason. He enjoyed sports and bluegrass music. Preceded in death by wife, Vivian Clark; infant son, Bobby Wayne; brother, George and Gertrude; sisters, Robbie and Clarence Bostic, Frankie and Red Wood, Eva and Raymond Bagwell; brothers -in-law, Cotton Bright and James Christian. Survived by son, Russell and Janice Woody; grandsons, Coley and Sarah, Rusty and Kim and granddaughter Katie; great grandchildren, David Coleman, Riley, Blake and Ty Woody; sisters, Mary Christian, Tika Bright, Ruth and Russell Miller and Dean Mowry; special friends, Blanche Cranfill and Barbara Green. The family would like to extend special Thanks to the staff of Kindred Healthcare. Family will receive friends Saturday, April 18, 12:00 - 2:00 pm, with the service at 2:00 at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bill White and grandson, Coley, will officiate.
