Francis Parks, 86, of Richfield, Utah, died June 10, 2001 in Cedar City, Utah.

He was born June 22, 1914 in Richfield, to John William and Clara Horne Parks. He was a member of the Richfield Unit of the Utah National Guard, where he was the first Sergeant. He joined the Army in 1936 and served during World War II. Francis loved to fly and had owned his own small plane. After the war he then rejoined the Air Force and served in Korea, retiring in 1964. He spent many hours in the mountains, hunting and fishing, he enjoyed the desert and hunting for artifacts.

Survived by three sisters, Editha Schurtz of Soda Springs, ID, Hazel (Roy) Urie of Cedar City, Bernadine (Valdon) Anderson of Salina. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: William Fay Parks, Frank Horne Parks, Smith Parks, Mildred Parrish, infant twin sisters, Martha and Rachel and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary Chapel, where friends may call Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with Military Rites by the Richfield Unit of the Utah National Guard.
