PHILANTHROPIC CAREER IS ENDED. Mrs. S. G. Knox Dies Suddenly. Interested in Children's Home. Mrs. S.G. Knox died suddenly yesterday morning at her home, 1551 East First Street of heart disease. She was 72 yrs. old and leaves her husband and two daughters, Mrs. W. C. Winton 150 East First street and Mrs. Kritzer of Wausau, Wi. Mrs. Knox was apparently in the best of health and the attack came unexpectedly. She resided here for the last 20 yrs. and had been active in many public movements for the better of society. She was especially active in the Duluth Children's home, to which she devoted considerable time. She was a director of the society, and exerted untiring efforts to aid the homeless children. At a special meeting of directors of the society yesterday at the home of Mrs. J.N. McKindley, resolutions of condolence were adopted. The funeral will be held from the residence at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
