John Benzinger, Sr., 81, lifelong county resident, died early Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Bebeau, 16?? 16th street, Two Rivers. He had been in poor health for some time.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the Beduhn funeral home at Two Rivers and at 9 o'clock from the St. Luke's Catholic church, the Very Rev. Dean C.V. Hugo officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
Mr. Benzinger was born in the town of Mishicot June 6, 1859 and engaged in farming in the town until about 19 years ago when he moved to Two Rivers. For some time he was employed at the Hamilton Manufacturing company. He married Miss Frances Hess about 58 years ago. She died May 5, 1931.
Survivors are nine daughters, Mrs. Mary Flentje, Mrs. Edward Bebeau, Mrs. Leo Deja, Mrs. George Peot, Jr., Mrs. Milton Peltier, all of Two Rivers, Mrs. Pauline Flentje
of Mishicot, Mrs. William Lawerence of Manitowoc and Mrs. Bronnie Schwarts and Mrs. M.L. Popp of Milwaukee: four sons, Arthur and Joseph Benzinger of Two Rivers and
Oscar and John, Jr., on the home farm; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Gruman of Laona, Mrs. Annie Wachtel and Mrs. Julius Eis of the town of Two Rivers; two brothers, Fred Benzinger of Cavour, and Hugo of the town of Mishicot; 27 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home.
