Charles Otto Olson peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, May 1st. Charlie was born in San Antonio, Texas November 24, 1929. He attended St. Thomas High where he starred in football and proceeded to play in college. He served his country in the United States Navy for four years. After which he enrolled at Sam Houston State where he met Dolores Rosales, his loving wife of 58 years. He later enrolled at the University of Houston where he earned his Bachelors and Masters Degree. He taught and coached for HISD for thirty years. His passions were traveling the world, cooking and teaching golf. Charlie is survived by his devoted wife Dolores Olson, children; Robert and (Michelle), James (Kim), Chuck (Cari), Lawrence (Cindy), Paul (Mary Lee), Andrew (Ingrid), and daughter Celeste (Stan). He is survived by twenty-four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Clarence Olson and H. Fred Olson. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4th Forest Park Lawndale from 6:00pm-9:00pm and rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday May 5th at 10:00 am at St. Christopher Catholic Church at 8150 Park Place Blvd. Houston, TX 77017.
