Dolores Rosales Olson, 84, died on February 26, 2018. Dolores was born on April 6th, 1933 to Gustavo and Olivia Rosales who preceded her in death as does her husband, Charles Otto Olson, her brother, Gilbert Rosales and son, James Olson. She is survived by her children and spouses, Robert and Michelle, Kim, Chuck and Cari, Larry and Cynthia, Paul and Marylee, Andrew and Ingrid Olson, Celeste and Stan Stringham and 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dolores graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1951. She went on to college at University of St Thomas, where she made the Dean’s List. She then transferred to Sam Houston State Teachers College and graduated there with honors in 1955. Years later, she returned to receive her Master’s Degree from University of Houston. While at Sam Houston, she met the love of her life, Charles, at the Newman Catholic Center. She got married and became a devoted mother, who showed her family the everlasting value of a mother’s love. She also had the honor of starting the first bilingual education program in the Houston Area and had the pleasure of teaching countless students to read and write. After retiring, she spent the rest of her life sharing her beautiful heart with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to her visitation from 6:00-9:00pm on Friday March 2nd with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Saturday March 3 at 1:00pm at St. Christophers Catholic Church. The burial will immediately follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
