Mr. Mollett was born May 28, 1927, a son of Eugene and Elsie Blakeney Mollett.
He married Mary Lou Plebanski in 1949. She preceded him in death.
He later married Eileen Kirkpatrick. She also preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Michael Mollett of Rosenburg, Texas, Gregory Mollett of Dyer, Ind., and Richard Mollett of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Lucinda Johnson of Houston; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Mollett of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Carole Gilkison and Nancy Burt, both of Westville, and Phyllis Brooks of Ridge Farm.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother and a sister.
Mr. Mollett worked at U.S. Steel, Chicago, and later Rice University, Houston. He served in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a Houston Astros, Texans and Rockets fan.
