William married Barbara McFadden, and they became the parents of two sons and two daughters.
At the age of 40, William David Matthews, of Uniontown, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kevin and Bruce Matthews; a daughter, Tina Marie Matthews; maternal grandfather, Walter Bryner; and paternal grandparents, William David and Dessie Matthews.
Besides his mother of Connellsville, he was survived by his maternal grandmother, Violet Bryner; his wife, Barbara McFadden Matthews of Aliquippa, Pa.; children, William David Matthews Jr., Wesley Matthews, Tiffany Matthews and Jeffrey Glass; granddaughter, Libby GIass; sisters, Robin Gerhardt and husband, Jeff, of Smock, Nancy Hall of Connellsville, Cindy Matthews of Uniontown; special friend, Peggy Leonard; and nieces and nephews.
