Breaks Neck in Six Foot Fall.
Standish Demski has Spinal Cord severed from fall in barn He lived 24 hours paralyzed from shoulders down.
Wondering why her father did not come to supper, one of the Demski girls went out to the barn looking for her father, who had been working in the hay mow. When she reached the barn she found her father Standish lying unconscious on the barn floor. Mr Demski who was subject to slight fainting spells suddenly grew dizzy and fell to the floor from the mow, about 6 feet. He fell however, striking on his head and it was discovered the spine was so dislocated that the spine was severed, thus making him paralyzed. Mr Demski was afterwards perfectly conscious and though he could not feel even a prick of a pin or move a muscle except in his face. He suffered severe pain at the point of injury if any attempt to move him. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon about 5 o'clock and Mr Demski passed away the next afternoon at 1 o'clock August 1. Mr Demski who was 68, is the father of 7 children, six of whom are living. He lived in Larkin Twp.for 30 years where he has 100 acre farm.

Standislaus is my gr grandfather. He had a daughter that didn't come here and stayed behind in Poland. Her name was Victoria Debska born 5/25/1875 in Debica, Poland and died Jan 15, 1898 in Debica, Poland.
Also daughter Aurrie Demskey 6/25/1891 - 8/25/1891, and daughter Aurua Demskey 2/15/1892 - 8/15/1892. Buried in Old Calvary Cemetery according to records, but no stone.

Stan and his wife had a son Peter Demski, that was born 2/2/1886 and died shortly after. No death cert. but County Clerk said that was normal back then. I would presume he is buried in Old Calvary, but no marker.
