Irvin was a veteran of World War II, and also served in the Merchant Marines until his retirement. At the time of his death, he was survived by his daughter, Mrs. Ann (George) Yaskowiak of New Milford; a brother, Willard Addis, of Clark Summit; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
