Gerry served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 145 of Frenchville. He retired from Fraser Paper after 44 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Jocelyne Bois Ouellette of Edmundston, NB; two sons, Chad Ouellette of Frenchville and Brad Ouellette of St. Agatha; one brother, Dennis of Saco; two sisters, Maryline Shield of Winsor, CT, and Linda Ouellette of Frenchville; two stepdaughters, Suzanne and Jeanne; one stepson, Richard; stepdaughter, Sylvie; and four stepgrandchildren, Kayla, Claudie, Chloe and Eli.
He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Donald and Harold.
Services were held Friday, August 30, at Saint. Agatha Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated with the Rev. Kenneth Ouellette officiating and with Military Honors.
Donations may be made to the Edgar Paradis Cancer Fund; and Hospice of Aroostook.
