Mrs. Ernest (Christine) Klenke, 87, of 1208 Arlington Ave., Manitowoc, formerly of 1032A S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund Olson will officiate with burial in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mrs. Klenke, nee Christine Krueger, was born Jan. 26, 1888, at Two Rivers, daughter of the late Christian and Karolina Camlott Krueger. She was a Manitowoc area resident all her life. She was married to Ernest C. Klenke June 4, 1910, at Two Rivers. He preceded her in death July 20. 1964. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, ALC Church Women and Pythian Sisters.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Dolores Klenke, of Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Henrietta Peppard and .John and Esther Toomey, of Manitowoc; two brothers, William and Henry, of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Flora) Rassmussen, of Florida and Mrs. William (Celia) Morrisey, of Manitowoc, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A son, Ernest, died in Brisbane, Australia, from wounds received fighting in New Guinea in World War II. A son, Charles, two brothers, four sisters and a son-in-law, Daniel Peppard, also preceded her in death.
Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
