Ruby N. Young, 89, died June 18, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society. She was born on April 20, 1925, to Jesse V. and Rebecca E. (Sparks) Bishop in Denoya, Okla.
She married Jay T. Young on March 21, 1952, in Bentonville, Ark. He died on June 12, 1988. Ruby was a volunteer for the Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary in the Gift Shop, Elmdale Pioneer Senior Center, Delos V. Smith Senior Center, and R.S.V.P. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Survivors include: brother, Jess A. Bishop of Hutchinson; nieces, Connie Constant, Christine Rounds, Wilma Cross, Phyllis Thompson, all of Hutchinson, Carol Heisler of Kingman, Jessie Turner of Nolanville, Texas; nephews, Nelson Metzler Jr. and Lott Metzler, both of Hutchinson; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Wesley V. Bishop; half brothers, William O. Metzler, Nelson Metzler Sr., Jack Metzler; niece, Ellen Osborn; and a nephew, Wayne V. Bishop.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Pastor Robert Albin presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
