Louise A. Hepfer, 64, a lifelong resident of Newberry Township, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her sister's residence in Lewisberry, after battling pancreatic cancer. She was the ex-wife of the late Benjamin E. Hepfer.
Born December 7, 1941 (Pearl Harbor Day), in Newberry Township, a daughter of the late Franklin G. and Mildred B. (Basye) Ness, she had worked at Hershey Foods for 17 years in the Kiss department. Before her illness, she attended New Life Baptist Church. She loved to plan group tours all over the world, and enjoyed spending time at the seashore with family and friends. Her other interests included raising beautiful flowers and following gospel music groups. Mrs. Hepfer is survived by a son, Keith A. Hepfer of Newville; a granddaughter, Julie A. Rohrbaugh and her husband, Jason of Middletown; a greatgrandson, Devin A. Rohrbaugh of Middletown; a brother, Raymond E. Ness and his wife, Doris of York Haven; and two sisters, Helen M. Miner and her husband, Allen of Lewisberry and Ruth M. Fink and her husband, Glenn of Etters. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Korry A. Hepfer; a brother, Harold F. Ness; and a nephew, Michael A. Miner.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Newberrytown Church of God, 2290 Old Trail Road, Etters, with the Rev. David A. Yost officiating. Viewing will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberrytown. William E. Little Funeral Homes, 60 S. Main St., Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice of York, 2449 S. Queen St., York, PA 17402; or to Newberrytown Church of God, 2290 Old Trail Road, Etters, PA 17319.
