Ted Brevelle, 74, of Grapevine, Texas, passed away June 18, 2014 at his home. He was born July 11, 1939 in Oakdale, Louisiana, the son of Clement Theodore and Troy Virginia (Green) Brevelle. Ted proudly served his country as a 1st LT in the United States Army. He and Ouida Fontenot were united in marriage on August 12, 1960 in Oakdale, LA. He was a graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with a Masters Degree in Mathematics and Physical Education. Ted was very dedicated to his profession. He served as a High School Coach from 1964 to 1971 and as Coach and Athletic Director at McNeese State University from 1971-1987. He served as Athletic Director for Grapevine/Colleyville Independent School District from 1987 to 2002. He enjoyed sports, especially golf. He was also a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Grapevine. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Gobert and a brother, Tommy Brevelle. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 53 years, Ouida Brevelle; sons, Craig Brevelle and wife Chloe of Paige, TX and Mark Brevelle and wife Laurie of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Lisa Wright and husband Sam of Euless, TX; sister, Frances Brevelle of Houston; grandchildren, Katy Sewell and husband Trent, Callie Brevelle, Whitney Brevelle, Daniel Brevelle, Greyson Brevelle and Cody Wright. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 3 to 5 pm at J.E. Foust Funeral Home in Grapevine. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at J.E. Foust Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at 11am at the funeral home chapel. Interment with honors will follow at DFW National Cemetery.
