KENNETH T. COENEN
Deacon Kenneth T. Coenen, age 76, of 2803 38th St., Two Rivers, died early on Sunday morning, July 6, 2008, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1932, in Two Rivers, son of the late Benedict and Gladys (Panure) Coenen. Ken was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a fireman from Jan. 9, 1950, until September of 1953. He was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield Susan, Calif. On Jan. 5, 1952, he married the former Jean Claire LaFond at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2004. He attended the Deacon Formation from 1979 until 1985 at Cardinal Strich College. Ken was employed with Hamilton Industries from 1953 until Feb. 15, 1993, retiring as a supervisor. He was then employed part-time at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home until 2003. He continued his religious services to the Catholic Church as a deacon from 1982 to retirement in 2003. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus 1957 Chapter of which he was a past grand knight, and a member of Hamilton Management Association. He served the community through charitable love and caring for those in need, visiting sick and confined people in nursing homes, hospitals and at homes. Ken was a member of the board of directors of the Shoreline Credit Union for many years.

He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Anna and Julian LaFond; one sister: Katherine Coenen; two sisters-in-law: Ruth and Winifred Coenen; and one brother-in-law: Richard Hallada.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3218 Tannery Road, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Bishop Robert Morneau, with the Rev. Robert Rhyner concelebrating. Assisting at the Mass will be Deacon Paul Grimm, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4 until 8 p.m. at The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, 1420 22nd St., Two Rivers, on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m., led by Deacon Ken Nelesen.
Visitation will continue on Thursday morning at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
Ken enjoyed his religious affiliations, serving the people who shared this faith. He enjoyed teaching religious education for children developing their faith. He lived a life of God's love and peace. It was the same peace he shared with his wife in the final years of married love. Peace be to all his Friends.

The infant, Kenneth Coenen came into the world with two teeth and weighed six and one-half pounds.
