Thomas Read married Mary Brocket on June 7, 1568 in Abingdon, Berkshire.

4, Thomas Read, Esq. who was knighted, and lies buried at Dunsten, in Oxfordshire, leaving issue by Mary, daughter and coheiress of Sir John Brocket, of Brocket-hall, in Hertfordshire, Knt. three sons, 1, Thomas; 2, John, father of Sir John Read, of Brocket-hall, in Hertfordshire, Bart, so created March 16, 1641, who married Susan, daughter of Sir Thomas Style, of Wateringbury, in Kent, Bart, by whom he had, J, Sir James, his successor in title and estate; and a daughter, wife of Sir John Bucknall, of Oxey, near Watford, in Hertfordshire, Knt. Sir James Read, of Brocket-hall, Bart, t married , one of
the daughters and coheiresses of Dring, of Isleworth, in Middlesex,
Esq. but this title became extinct on the death of Sir James, who died October 1701, leaving four daughters, his coheirs, 1, Dorothea, wife of Robert Dashwood, Esq. Eldest surviving son of Sir Robert Dashwood, of Northbroke, in Oxfordshire, Bart.; 2, , of John Myddleton, of Chirk-castle, in Denbighshire, Esq.; 3, , of Thomas Winnington, Esq. one of the lords of the treasury; and 4, » The third son of Sir Thomas Read, Knt. was

Of the daughters, 1, Mary, wife of Robert^ Dormer, of Dourton, in Bucks, Esq.; 2, Elizabeth, of Sir Gilbert Cornwall, Knt. ; 4, Frances, of Sir William Russell, of Strensham, in Worcestershirer Bart. '; 4, Ellen ; and 5, Anne, of Anthony Winwood, of Ditton-Park, near Colebroke, in Bucks, Esq.
