Mrs. Hattie Kumbalek, 78, formerly of 2114 Garfield St., Two Rivers, died late Wednesday night at Manitowoc County Hospital where she had been a patient the past four years.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 9 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, the Rev. Herman Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mrs. Kumbalek, nee Hattie Landt, was born in the Town of Two Rivers Aug. 23, 1880 (sic), daughter of the late Ernest and Frieda Ahrndt Landt. She was married May 22, 1901, to Louis Kumbalek in Two Rivers, who later became a police officier. Many years later the Kumbaleks operated a confectionery and milk depot on Washington Street south of the Rivoli Theater. Mr. Kumbalek died in Two Rivers in 1934. Mrs. Kumbalek was a member of the Altar Society of St. Luke Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Lemmers of Milwaukee; six sons, Louis, Cornelius and Ernest of Two Rivers, Norbert of Rt. 5, Manitowoc, and Sylvester and Roland of Rt. 1, Mishicot; three sisters, Mrs. Sophi Schroder, Mrs. Peter Weber and Mrs. Lena Klawitter of Two Rivers; 25 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday where the Rosary will be
recited at 7:45 p.m.
