On the 1900 Federal Census for Newton, Sheet Number 3 B, Agnes is listed with her two older siblings Mary and Bruno as Radzinski.
Her widowed mother Matilda Rohde Radzinski then married Henry Kasten, also widowed with 4 children in 1895 and the couple added two more children to the family. It was often that children of a first marriage used the step-father's surname especially if they were very young at the time of their birth father's death. This was the casr with Agnes in her adult years.
