George Hanson stated his occupations as capitalist and dairy proprietor. He married Sidney Dexter Williams in New Orleans on Aug 31, 1899, taking up residence in Berwick. They adopted a son, James Kenney, before 1910 and then had their own son, George Sidney, in 1911. Sometime before 1930, they separated but never divorced. George contracted cancer around 1940 and moved to Pt. Arthur, Texas to live with his married son George. When he died in 1942, his body was transported back to Berwick for burial.
