The funeral for Mrs. Alice Perkins Martin, 85, Long Beach, who died Wednesday, was held Thursday at 2:30 pm at the Wolf Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. L.D. Whitfield officiating assisted by Earl Wright and L.S. Walker. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Hancock County. Riemann Funeral Home of Long Beach was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Martin, wife of Lance Martin, had been a resident of Rt. 1 Box 106-D for seven years. She was born in Hancock County on Aug. 4, 1892 the daughter of John Perkins and Mary Rosella Rester Perkins. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Gulfport.
In addition to her widower, she is survived by one son, Oras Martin, Long Beach; one daughter, Mrs. Ovellia Lott of Picayune; four brothers, Daniel Perkins of Lyman, Joe Perkins of Waveland, Francis Perkins of the Kiln, and Rayford Perkins of Pass Christian; two sisters, Mrs. Mandy Cuevas of Standard and Mrs. Martha Jane Ferrill of Gulfport; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
