PONTIAC - David R. Bachtold Sr., 61, of 920 W. Madison St., Pontiac, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday (July 21, 2003) at his residence.
His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday Southside Cemetery Mausoleum Pontiac, Pastor Bill Shields officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Pontiac. Duffy Funeral Home in Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born Jan. 19, 1942, in Fairbury, a son of John H. and Helen W. Irving Bachtold.
Surviving are one son, David R. (Dawn) Bachtold, Paxton; one brother, John A. Bachtold, Fairbury; one sister, Mildred (Willard) Baker, Pontiac; and two grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
He had worked for ARCO Pipeline as a flight inspector for many years. He then was a flight instructor, and later had a rural newspaper route.
He attended Forrest schools and served in the Army during Vietnam.
